THERAPEUTIC DISCLOSURE

You have experienced Discovery Day with your partner/spouse, all your beliefs and understanding about your relationship are shattered, in shreds on whatever floor you are standing on.

The world tilts and you are in a free fall of emotions. What you believed about your life is shaken and questions are flooding your mind, the words may come gushing out like a tsunami, or the questions frozen by the shock of the discovery. 

When an intimate relationship experiences the discovery of lies, affairs and sexual acting behaviors it leads to a major rupture of trust between partners, a Therapeutic Disclosure is an important step to  help the couple start the process of recovery and healing.

I have personal experience of Disclosures, my own unprepared and unsupported disclosure process went terribly wrong and left me traumatized and feeling cheated by the experience. In my coaching practice I have focused on the process of empowering women with compassion and expertise, providing them with opportunities to prepare and ask those questions they will get answers to in the  Rite of Truth, finally getting to the truth behind the lies they have been told.  During this process helping women access the tools of emotional regulation while dealing with triggers and the trauma that can be difficult to deal with alone.

I have trained as a Disclosure Guide with Janice Caudill and Dan Drake, using their protocol Full Disclosure Seeking Truth After Sexual Betrayal, I've led and prepared clients for Disclosures in and out of state. The preparation work may take six to eight weeks depending on the circumstances, with a Rite of Truth scheduled when the partners come together in a safe and facilitated meeting. The disclosing partner shares their disclosure document and answers the questions that have been prepared and submitted by the receiving partner. The couple will each have their Disclosure Guides with them to facilitate this process to ensure safety for both.
